Coronavirus Brookfield: 5 More School Community Members Infected

Anyone who is considered a "close contact" with the infected community members has been contacted by now or will be contacted very soon.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Three more members of the Brookfield High School community, one member of the Huckleberry Hill School community and a member of the Center School community tested positive for coronavirus, Superintendent John Barile announced Monday.

The affected people have been instructed to remain home and isolate for 10 days.

The last day the affected people were at Brookfield High School was Nov. 16. The last day the affected person was at Huckleberry Hill School was on Nov. 17, and the last day the affected person was at Center School was Nov. 18.

"At this time, we have not received any other reports of students or staff members experiencing illnesses with symptoms resembling those of COVID-19," Barile said in an email to families on Monday.

Anyone who is considered a "close contact" with the infected community members has been contacted by now or will be contacted very soon and provided with instructions on the appropriate steps to take, which includes quarantine for 14 days, according to Barile.

"As the health metrics continue to change we will closely monitor the COVID-19 data trends in collaboration with the Brookfield Health Department and our district medical advisor," Barile said.
