Coronavirus Brookfield: Parks & Rec Programs, Playgrounds, Close

...but the Still River Greenway and all open space properties including Williams-Gurski Open Space, Happy Landings & Burr Farm remain open.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Town's Department of Parks & Recreation has announced it will be suspending all programs "out of an abundance of caution," in an to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. No date was suggested as to when the programs would resume, in an announcement posted to their website.

The Town has also announced that all playgrounds including school playgrounds and the Kids Kingdom Playground on the Town Hall campus and are closed. The fields at the schools, Cadigan Park and Town Hall are also closed, as are all tennis courts and basketball courts .

The Still River Greenway and all open space properties including Williams-Gurski Open Space, Happy Landings and Burr Farm remain open.
