Crossing Yellow Line Leads to DUI Charge

Police charge New Milford woman with driving under the influence.

A New Milford woman was observed allegedly swerving over the center yellow line and white fog line numerous times while traveling north from Junction Road onto Whisconier Road shortly after 10 p.m. April 21.

Brookfield police conducted a traffic stop and interviewed the driver, Lisa Banning, 51, of Ash Lane, New Milford. Upon completion of field sobriety tests and the observed driving behavior, Banning was arrested and charged with failure to drive in the proper lane and operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

She was released on $500 bond pending a May 3 court date in Danbury Superior Court.
