Drunk Driver in Brookfield Crash Had Marijuana in Car: Police

Police say the driver involved in an accident on Route 25 in Brookfield on Wednesday was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Police said the driver who caused a two-car crash on Route 25 in Brookfield on Wednesday was intoxicated and had marijuana in his car, according to the News Times.

James Johannessen, 31, of Southbury, crossed the center line in his Subaru, colliding with a Cadillac Escalade. Police said Johannessen had marijuana and several beer bottles in his car and failed field sobriety tests.

He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, possession of a controlled substance, failure to drive right and distracted driving.
