Entertainment, vendors, food to be featured at Block Party

Scheduled for Sunday, June 4, along Old Route 7

BROOKFIELD -- Some local business professionals want to help residents "Spring into Summer."

The third Brookfield Block Party is slated for Sunday, June 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Old Route 7 in the Brookfield Town Center central business district.

Greg Dembowski, the municipal Community Development Specialist, told Patch.com that there will be more than 50 vendors, live music, arts & crafts, food, performing arts and fun & games. Wine and beer will be provided by Tapville.

The committee organizing the event is chaired by Kathy Creighton, a personal trainer. She is being assisted by three members of the municipal Economic Development Commission: Angelo DaChuna of Brookfield Cleaners; Rich Reynolds of Realty One Group and Pete Gerardi, the commission vice chairman, of Newtown Savings Bank. The panel's roster also has Mark Eckstein of ME Creative, Janisty Dean of Black Horse Construction and Anne McClelland of The First Bite.

The Block Party is free. Proceeds will be donated to the Brookfield Fire Department.

Dembowski said the event is dependent on the weather. However, he emphasized that with good weather they could attract 1,000 visitors. Parking will be available throughout Brookfield Town Center.
