FBI Report: How Much Violent Crime Happened in Brookfield Last Year?
The FBI recently released a report with crime statistics collected from cities and towns across the U.S.A., including Brookfield.

The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which includes information about Brookfield.
According to the report, Brookfield had a population of 16,957 in 2014 and had 3 incidents of violent crime last year, including 2 robberies and 1 aggravated assault. There were 162 property crimes, 19 burglaries, 139 incidents of larceny and 4 cases of motor vehicle theft in Brookfield in 2014.

Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI.
In comparison, Bethel had no violent crime incidents last year. There were 164 cases of property crime, 22 burglaries, 135 incidents of larceny/theft and 7 cases of motor vehicle theft in Bethel in 2014. Bethel’s population for 2014 was 19,425.

In nearby Easton, there were no incidents of violent crime for 2014. Easton’s 2014 population was 7,645. There were 30 instances of property crime, 10 burglaries and 20 cases of larceny last year.

Weston’s population in 2014 was 10,417 and of that number 2 cases of violent crime were reported for 2014 which were both for aggravated assault. There were 33 property crimes, 6 burglaries and 27 cases of larceny last year in Weston.
Redding had 4 cases of violent crime last year which were all for aggravated assault. There were 41 cases of property crime, 13 burglaries and 27 cases of larceny last year. Redding also had 1 case of motor vehicle theft during 2014.
The FBI reports violent crime decreased nationally last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
