Fire Companies Make Quick Work of Tues Morning Blaze

Fire departments swift to stamp out structure fire Tuesday.

Brookfield firefighters responded to a house fire at 5 Obtuse Rocks Road at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, where they found two police officers already putting out flames on the outside of the home with fire extinguishers.

Approximately 20 firefighters responded from the and companies, with mutual aid responding from Bridgewater and Haleyville, according to Candlewood Fire Chief Gary Gramling, though they were returned en route to the scene after the fire was knocked down.

Firefighters were able to use a hand line, “using a small amount of water to extinguish the fire,” Gramling said, and had the blaze out in five minutes without injury to firefighters or the residents.

The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

The fire comes on a day with a from the National Weather Service (NWS).
