Firefighters Clear Early Morning Fire on Secor Wednesday
Brookfield and Bethel companies responded to a fire on Secor Road early Wednesday.

Both Brookfield fire departments and the Stony Hill Company from Bethel responded to an apparent electrical fire early Wednesday morning at 14 1/2 Secor Road, Brookfield.
According to Fire Chief Gary Gramling, the call for volunteer emergency responders went out shortly before 4 a.m. and the small fire was extinguished within 10 minutes of their arrival. The fire appeared to have started due to a malfunctioning electrical appliance installed within the kitchen island and the flames were entirely contained within that unit, limiting damage to the house.
There were no injuries reported and the home’s sole occupant escaped unharmed before emergency responders arrived.
