Former Brookfield School Finance Director Faces Larceny and Forgery Charges
A recent audit revealed $124,000 in questionable spending by Art Colley, former Brookfield school finance director.

Former school finance director Art Colley faces larceny and forgery charges due to a recent audit that revealed $124,000 in questionable spending, according to the News Times.
Colley resigned in February 2014 after accusations that he overspent the district budget by $1.2 million. He was arrested In March 2014 on a felony larceny charge after he was accused of reimbursing himself for three iPads he didn’t purchase.
That discovery led to an audit which found various payments to his personal bills, as well as payment to his daughter’s landlord and dental work for his assistant Elizabeth Kerekes. Kerekes resigned in May and has not been charged.

Court records show Colley is due in Danbury Superior Court next on July 27, 2015. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
