Saturday May 18 was sunny, warm and beautiful. It was a perfect day for the Garden Club of Brookfield’s annual plant sale. Club members would like to thank everyone who stopped by to support this event. We enjoyed talking with people about their gardens and appreciate the kind words expressed for our work in the community. Special thanks go to the owners of Candlewood Agway who once again worked with us to supply plants for the sale. Contributions from Shoprite, BJs, Costco, Bagelman, John’s Best and Dunkin Donuts kept our members well fed. We thank each of these local businesses for their support. As part of Brookfield’s 225th anniversary our club is hosting a tour of eight Brookfield gardens on Sunday June 23 from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. The cost is $20 for advance sales and $25 for tickets purchased the day of the tour. Tickets may be purchased by sending a check made out to The Garden Club of Brookfield to PO Box 594 Brookfield,CT 06804. Check our blog here on The Patch for more information in the coming weeks.
