Hamden Police: Brookfield Man Passed $33,000 Bad Check

The following arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

From Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith:

On June 14, Hamden Police received a complaint from  regarding a worthless check in the amount of $33,853.

Robert Reiling of Fairfield County Glass in Danbury allegedly gave the check to personnel of Yankee Aluminum.

After further investigation by Hamden Det. Thomas Rhone, an arrest warrant application was filed and subsequently signed by the court.

On August 1, Hamden Police arrested Reiling, 38, of Fairview Road in Brookfield, on charges of first-degree larceny and issuing a bad check.

Reiling was released after posting a $10,000 court ordered bond. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court August 17.
