The district, which has been controlled by the GOP in 50 of the last 52 years, encompasses all of Brookfield, the Stony Hill section of Bethel and a slice of northern Danbury.

Voters have not elected a Democrat in the 107th District since 1974. Harding has held the seat since February 2015.

Both campaigns were canvassing neighborhoods and posting lawn signs by early summer.

The debate, which was held on Thursday, October 25, at Whisconier Middle School, was sponsored by the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.
