BROOKFIELD, CT -- Conservative Republican John Pistone of Brookfield has declared his candidacy for the 5th Congressional District seat. He is throwing his hat into a ring already crowded with candidates after U.S. Representative Elizabeth Esty declared she would not seek re-election amidst allegations she had mishandled a sex abuse scandal involving former staffers.
Pistone, a Brookfield resident for the past 28 years, ran against Democrat Esty and Republican Clay Cope as a write-in candidate in 2016.
