Latest Brookfield Coronavirus Updates: 6 More Cases Confirmed
Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Brookfield.
BROOKFIELD, CT — The state Department of Public Health has confirmed there are 58 cases of the new coronavirus in the Town, as of Monday afternoon evening, up from 52 reported Sunday night.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut ballooned by 578 cases to 2,571 and the number of deaths rose from 34 to 36 on Monday. The number of people hospitalized rose from 404 to 517 on Monday.
A total of 21 deaths have been reported in Fairfield County, six in New Haven County, four in Tolland County, three in Hartford County, and one each in Middlesex and Litchfield County.

Dr. Raymond Sullivan, the Town's director of Public Health, has issued the following new guidelines regarding self-isolation:
Those who have tested positive can come off if isolation if:- They are fever free for three days while off fever reducing medications, and
- They are entirely without symptoms of any cough, sneezing or respiratory difficulty for the same three days, and
- They have been self-isolated for a minimum of 7 days.

The Brookfield Library is closed. Numerous resources, including books, magazines, audiobooks, movies, music and research databases are available from the library online.
Brookfield First Selectman Steve Dunn says the Town is establishing a dedicated general telephone line and email addresses for those who do not know who they specifically wish to speak to in town hall with any concerns or issues. Residents with questions about the coronavirus should call 211 or contact the State through its online portal. Until those are established, Dunn suggests sending all inquiries by email to his office at sdunn@brookfieldct.gov or call 203-775-3700 to leave a message.
