Letter To The Editor: 'Steve Harding Has Earned Your Vote'

"Steve has worked diligently on various issues important to our local communities..."

Steve Harding Has Earned Your Vote; He Deserves Re-Election!

While much focus is on the presidential election, voters should also be attentive to those local representatives who have done well in advocating for them in Hartford. More than most, Steve Harding, representing Brookfield, Bethel, and parts of Danbury in the State Legislature, has demonstrated excellent work on behalf of his constituents. For that, we need to keep him as our 107th District Representative.

Steve has worked diligently on various issues important to our local communities. With individuals and businesses struggling in the current economic climate, Steve has been a voice for stalling/stopping tax and fee increases. He has championed the return of a fair share of federal and state income tax monies to his district as this assists with school construction, road and business improvements; in fact, Steve helped secure $46 million for local school projects. He has always supported appropriate budgets and voted against unnecessary and inflated spending. This is especially important to seniors who, while on fixed incomes, can be burdened with tax increases on both the state and local level. Steve has worked in bipartisan fashion both with town Selectmen and opposition party leaders in Hartford.

Particularly impressive in the debates, Steve showed his knowledge of specifics and facts, especially as they related to the district he represents. Meanwhile, reading his opponent's comments and political mail, one sees only vague commentary and national issues rather than a focus on the three towns in our district. It seems quite clear who demonstrates more interest in our local communities.

Please be sure to vote on November 3rd and keep Steve Harding as our State Representative.
