Lillinonah Boater Cited for Too Many Passengers, No Anchor Light
The following press release was issued by the Lake Lillinonah Authority on Tuesday, July 5.

At around 10 p.m. Sunday, July 3, shortly after the conclusion to the Bridgewater fireworks, Lake Lillinonah Authority conducted a vessel stop for failing to have an anchor light while under way. Shortly after stopping the vessel, it was found that the vessel was overloaded with passengers, subsequently contributing to the vessel almost sinking.
Some of the passengers were loaded onto the Lake Lillinonah patrol boat and taken to the dock the vessel left from. The vessel was escorted back to its dock safely.
The operator of the vessel, Drew Dewitt of Roxbury, was issued a citation for failure to comply with federal requirements regarding anchor lights and reckless boating in the second degree.
