Local Veterinarian Launches Recycling Program
Brook Farm Veterinary Center, of Patterson, NY, has just announced their new recycling program, to benefit the Farm Fund.

PATTERSON, NY - Brook Farm Veterinary Center of Patterson announced last week that they will be launching a new recycling initiative. The program encourages members of the community to bring their recyclables to the Brook Farm office, so that they may be redeemed and proceeds donated to the Farm Fund.
Did you know that over the past 40 years, over 2 trillion containers have been wasted? That is the equivalent of 800 barrels of crude oil that could have been saved, and just about 600 million tons of greenhouse gases that could have been avoided entirely. An estimated 116 billion containers are still wasted each year, piled into landfills, littered along roadways, parks, beaches, and polluting the Earth’s oceans and waterways. So how can we help?
By donating your recyclable goods (cans and plastic bottles only, at this time), Brook Farm will ensure that your goods are recycled properly, and also that all proceeds are used to benefit a community member in need.

The Farm Fund is one of the Hudson Valley’s only resources for pets who need immediate attention when their families cannot afford the care. While certain restrictions are enforced to keep the Fund viable, Brook Farm is able to cover an average of 83% of the costs accrued by families in need; Farm Fund invoices have ranged from as small as $85 and as large as $2,280 to save a pet in need. Brook Farm makes not profit off of the cases that receive financial support, and nearly every recipient of the Farm Fund’s aid would have lost their lives without it.
