Danbury Man Pulled From Candlewood Lake Is Dead: Police
State police have reported the man pulled from Candlewood Lake Monday evening is dead.
BROOKFIELD, CT — State police have reported the man pulled from Candlewood Lake Monday evening is dead.
Police have identified the man as Adao Nogueira, 53, of Danbury.
Emergency crews from Brookfield Police and Fire Departments responded to Button Island, a small island near Blueberry Island in Candlewood Lake, around 5:05 p.m. Monday for a reported drowning, an incident report from state police said.

When first responders arrived, they found a bystander administering CPR to Nogueira, according to the News-Times.
The incident remains under investigation by state police and the New Fairfield Resident Trooper’s Office, and the state Chief Medical Examiner will be examining Nogueira's body.
