UPDATE: More Than 1,600 Brookfield Homes Still Without Power

In a report released Saturday, Eversource is pledging to have the town's lights back on by Tuesday, Aug. 11, at noon.

BROOKFIELD, CT — According to Eversource, there are 1,640 customers in Brookfield, or nearly 20 percent of the town, still without electric service as of 8:30 p.m. Monday.

In a report released Saturday, the utility is pledging to have the town's lights back on by Tuesday, Aug. 11, at noon.

"Residents, please do not drag and pile brush to the town road. We currently do not have resources or plans to pick it up," officials said Friday morning.

The town brush yard is open to residents Sunday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. for drop-off while public works crews continue to work on clearing the roads.

Water (non-potable) is available at the firehouses.

Charging Stations are available at Center Fire, the Police department lobby and Town Hall.

There is limited WiFi available at the Police department in the upper general public parking area.
