Native Son Joins Father on Brookfield Police Force

Chief Robin Montgomery announced the appointment of Patrick C. Seeley as the newest officer in the Brookfield Police Department. Town Clerk Joan Locke administered the Oath of Office at a brief ceremony in Brookfield Town Hall on Wednesday evening, during the Brookfield Police Commission Meeting. 

Seeley, a former Federal Law Enforcement Officer with the National Park Service, was chosen as one of the top candidates from a field of over 250 individuals who tested for the position. His appointment brings the department to full staff, filling a position created by the retirement of veteran officer, Sgt. Douglas Vane, who will remain with the department as a Special Officer. 

Additional hires are anticipated in the next 6 months to fill vacancies created by the retirements of additional veteran officers.    

Patrick Seeley, the son of a currently serving Brookfield Police Officer Kevin Seeley, is a graduate of Brookfield High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Legal Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

His most recent employment, prior to joining the Brookfield Police Department, was as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer serving with the National Park Service on San Padre Island, Corpus Christi, Texas. His previous assignments were in Las Vegas, NV, Charlottesville, VA and Boston, MA.  Seeley lives in Brookfield.  

As a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, Seeley has been granted comparative certification by the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council. He will undergo an abbreviated training regimen, to learn Connecticut Laws, and be available for full patrol duties shortly.
