Police began an investigation after Danbury residents who live between New St. and Beaver St. complained about prostitution activity.

Danbury police arrested four women for prostitution on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, according to a news release from Det. Lt. Christian Carroccio.

Police began an investigation after several area residents who live between the New St. and Beaver St. section of Danbury complained about alleged prostitution activity. Members of the Special Investigations Division (SID) and the Community Conditions Unit (CCU) conducted a prostitution sweep in the area and witnessed four females who were propositioning undercover police officers.

The women were found roaming area streets and signaling passing cars to advertise their availability, the report stated. Police said each woman entered the undercover police officer’s vehicle and offered sex for money.

Two of the females arrested were found to be in possession of drugs and/or drug paraphernalia. All were transported to the police department where they were charged with the below listed offenses.

  • Teresa Lynch, 25, of New Milford was charged with prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Karen Santoro, 54, of Danbury was charged with prostitution.
  • Heather McNally, 28, of Danbury was charged with prostitution.
  • Jennifer Collins, 34, of Danbury was charged with prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
