New Hire Brings Brookfield Police to Full Staff

The Brookfield Police Department and Chief Robin Montgomery announced the appointment of Jason P. Livingston as the newest officer in the Brookfield Police Department Friday. 

Assistant Town Clerk Mary Ellen Badaracco administered the Oath at a brief ceremony in Brookfield Town Hall on Wednesday evening during the Brookfield Police Commission Meeting. 

Livingston was chosen as one of the top candidates from a field of over 250 individuals who tested for the position. His appointment brings the department to full staff, filling a position that will be created with the retirement of 36-year veteran, Officer Kevin Seeley, who will retire later this month as a full-time officer but will remain with the department as a Special Officer.

Livingston is married and has two children. He is a graduate of Amity Regional High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, in Justice and Law Administration, from Western Connecticut State University. His most recent employment, prior to joining the Brookfield Police Department, was with the Travelers Insurance Company as a claims investigator. He has worked in the insurance industry for the past seven years. 

The Livingston’s currently live in Orange, CT.

Livingston will begin training at the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council’s Police Academy, in Meriden, on Friday. He will be available for full patrol duties after graduation from the academy and completion of three months of field training, at the end of the year.
