Brookfield police stopped New Milford resident Christopher Mcelroen, 22, for speeding on Federal Road on Friday around 1:07 a.m. During the traffic stop, Mcelroen failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under the influence, as well as speeding. Mcelroen was released on $100 cash bond pending a court date on October 23.
