One Driver Cited for Crash, Other for Fleeing Scene

Two charged in early-morning accident last week.

Brookfield police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the area of 77 Candlewood Lake Road at 3:28 a.m. on March 19, citing one driver for the crash and, later, the other for fleeing the scene.

Following an investigation at the scene, Patrick Loglisci, 22, of Hampton Road, Southbury, was found at fault for the accident and charged with operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to drive in the proper lane.

He was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on April 2. The other vehicle in the crash, however, was not at the scene.

At 6:26 a.m. the same morning, Luis Macancela, 38, of Rocky Glen, Danbury, the other driver allegedly involved in the accident was located by city police in Danbury.

Macancela was charged with evading responsibility and released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on April 2.
