Operation Turkey Drop — Brookfield’s St Joseph’s annual effort to provide a Thanksgiving meal to the poor and needy served by Blessed Sacrament Parish in Bridgeport — was a great success.
And St Joe’s couldn't have done it without parishioners: packers, sorters, deliverers — and those who donated food and turkeys. Parishioners donated non-perishable food items such as potatoes, peas, beans, corn, and gravy, as well as staples like cereal, peanut butter and jelly, mustard, mayo, ketchup, pasta, tomato sauce, beans, and soups.
Deacon Peter notes that “Our annual mission to provide Thanksgiving fixing’s to the poor served by Blessed Sacrament Parish in Bridgeport helps us all to be that much more thankful for all of our blessings, and is the perfect introduction to this beautiful season of giving.”

Special thanks goes out to Ed Kish for chairing the project again this year. We are grateful to Mariano Brothers Specialty Moving for again providing us with a moving truck and a driver, as well as Claytons in New Milford for their donation of packing cartons.
