Opinion: 'Bill Tinsley Earned His Second Chance Tenfold'

To the Editor,

Restore integrity? I have never seen a more hypocritical message from a candidate for public office. Signs are appearing around town with “restore integrity” in support of the Democrat Steve Dunn’s bid for First Selectman.

This week, Mr. Dunn demonstrated that he has NO integrity. His message of handing the school system blank checks, and the people of Brookfield unlimited tax bills must not be resonating, so his campaign went in the gutter. Dunn’s nasty, negative message that was in my mailbox Thurday motivated me to write this letter.

Who among us hasn’t made a mistake or an error in judgment? Perfect people in this world are few and far between...no they are non-existent. All of us have or will have regrets or other things we wish we could have done differently.

When someone admits their mistake, asks for forgiveness, and seeks redemption -- attention must be paid. Everyone deserves a second chance and the right to earn any loss of respect.

Bill Tinsley earned his second chance tenfold. He delivered every promise he made to the people of Brookfield in 2013. Brookfield enjoyed no tax increase this year. Bill and the Board of Finance refinanced our town’s debt and ushered in the highest grand list growth in the Danbury area. Unlike previous First Selectmen, Bill treats everyone by the golden rule. His work ethic speaks volumes and he never forgets that he works for ALL Brookfield residents.

Vote Row B on November 3rd because Brookfield is a great community wih a solid record of accomplishments. Vote Tinsley-Flynn!
