• Brookfield school board seeks applicants for vacant seat after deadlocked votes (ctpost.com) — Brookfield residents have a fresh chance to apply for a vacant Board of Education seat after earlier 3-3 deadlocked votes between two candidates. Applications, including a letter and resume, are due by Oct. 16, with interviews planned the following week. The board must choose a successor within 60 days or the Board of Selectmen will decide.
