Joshua Norton, 29, of Pawling, NY, pulled up to a DUI checkpoint at 1087 Federal Road at 12:57 a.m. Brookfield Police k9 Bruno was called to the vehicle and during a search officers discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia. Norton was charged with three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of controlled substances, one count narcotic, one count non-narcotic. Norton was released on $10,000 bond pending a court date on June 11.

Two Brookfield officers responded to a reckless driving complaint from an off-duty Bethel officer at 10 a.m. The alleged driver, Daniel Bouchard, 19, of Brookfield, was located and failed several field sobriety tests. Bouchard was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He was released on $500 bond pending a court date on June 11.
