Brookfield Police arrested Xavier Villon, 27, of New Milford, after a high speed chase from Brookfield to Villon's home in the Willow Springs Condominium complex in New Milford.

At 3:15 a.m., two Brookfield officers were at the scene of a disabled tractor trailer in the northbound lane of Federal Road, approximately 500 feet south of the New Milford town line, according to reports. Two marked police cars had flashing emergency lights activated and both officers were directing traffic while wearing reflective vests. A white Audi approached the location at a high rate of speed and ignored officers' efforts to slow it down. It passed by at 50 mph, according to the officers, nearly colliding with the tractor trailer, and continued to accelerate north toward New Milford. One officer stayed with the disabled truck while the other went after the Audi.

The driver ignored the emergency lights and siren, increased speed and attempted to elude the officer. The pursuit came to a conclusion when Villon pulled into the condominium complex and ran from the vehicle. The Brookfield officer arrested Villon after a short foot chase through the condominium.

No one was injured and no vehicles or property was damaged. There was an adult male passenger in Villon's car, however he there were no charges levied against him.

Villon was charged with seven misdemeanors and one infraction, including driving under the influence, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, speeding — driving to endanger, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and interfering with the duties of an officer. He was released on $1,000 bond pending an appearance in Danbury Superior Court on July 16.

Wednesday, June 30

Brookfield officers arrived at the scene of a single-car accident at 1:28 a.m. The vehicle had struck a utility pole, causing it to break in half, however the operator could not be located. While investigating the accident, a witness had informed police that the operator was observed walking away from the area.

The K-9 unit was brought in to track the driver and led officers through a wooded area to where the driver was located, about a half-mile away. Officers detained the operator until an ambulance could arrive to take them to Danbury Hospital. The case is still under investigation and police have not released the name, age or residence of the accused.

Jodi Strati, 43, of New Milford, and Kenneth Strati, 60, of Purchase, NY, were arrested at 7:17 p.m. by officers responding to reports of a disturbance in the Office Max parking lot. After an investigation, it was found that both parties were involved in a domestic incident resulting in minor injuries. Both were charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree. Kenneth Strati was also charged with criminal violation of a restraining order. Both were released (Kenneth on $500 bond) with a court date scheduled for June 28.
