Police Blotter: DUI, Fight and a Hit-and-Run

Sunday, September 19

At approximately 2 a.m., Brookfield Police stopped Jonah Demby, 23, of Bridgeport, on Grays Bridge Road for speeding and failure to stay in his lane of travel. Demby failed a field sobriety test and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, traveling unreasonably fast and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Demby was released on $500 bond with a court date set for October 1 in Danbury Superior Court.

Friday, September 17

Tiffany Broderick, 23, and Cheryl Crnecki, 28, both of Brookfield, were allegedly involved in a physical altercation at 10:12 p.m. The two sisters were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree, with minor injury or intent to cause injury. They were released on written promises to appear in Danbury Superior Court on September 20.

Wednesday, September 15

At around 11:45 p.m., a vehicle was struck and damaged on Pleasant Rise. The victim's vehicle sustained substantial damage. The operator that caused this damage left the scene before the Brookfield Police arrived on scene. The vehicle that left the scene would have sustained front-end damage.

Brookfield Police suspect this vehicle to be a 2002-2005 Ford Explorer with a  beige color bumper. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call Sergeant Jeffrey Osuch (203-775-2575).
