Police Blotter: Firearms at Bird Sanctuary and Assault at Sunoco

Monday, September 6
Christina Seaman, 25, of Naugatuck, was arrested at the Bird Sanctuary on Old Bridge Road at 4:01 a.m., after having a verbal argument with her boyfriend. When police responded they were informed that Seaman had a loaded 45-caliber gun with her and was intoxicated. Seaman's 2-year-old daughter was with her at the time.
Seaman was charged with carrying a firearm while under the influence of liquor and was released on $1,000 bond with a court date set for September 17.

Wednesday, September 1
Brookfield Police responded to reports of an assault at the Sunoco Gas Station at 12:15 a.m. According to attendant Siddique Mohammed, a male identified as John Finney, Jr., 41, of Brewster, NY, tried to buy cigarettes when his credit card was declined, whereupon he grabbed the cigarettes and tried to flee. Mohammed grabbed Finney, making him drop his wallet, driver's license and the cigarettes. Finney allegedly struck Mohammed in the face and ran out the door.

Four witnesses at the gas station saw the fight and called 9-1-1. The witnesses also got a description of the suspect's vehicle. Finney was later stopped in that vehicle and arrested on charges of robbery in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree (shoplifting), assault in the third degree (minor injury or intent to cause injury) and criminal mischief in the third degree. Bond was set at $20,000.
