Police Blotter: Golf Ball Thief Arrested; Larceny, Marijuana and Passing a School Bus

Monday, April 4
Fnu Kulwindewr, 26, of King of Prussia, Penn., turned himself in to Brookfield Police on an arrest warrant issued in connection with a February 27 incident. Kulwindewr was charged with assault in the third degree: minor injury or intent to cause injury, and strangulation in the second degree. He was released on $10,000 bond pending a court date set for April 5 in Danbury Superior Court.

Joseph Kolenda, 40, of Fairfield, surrendered to the Brookfield Police Department on a warrant for his arrest stemming from third-degree larceny at Golf Quest in Brookfield. Brookfield Police had been investigating thefts of golf balls from Golf Quest, with the amounts reportedly in the thousands, that were later found at other golf ranges on Long Island.
Kolenda was held on $8,000 bond pending a court appearance scheduled for April 12 in Danbury Superior Court.

Police were dispatched to Shop Rite at 1:34 p.m. for a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival, police spoke with loss prevention employees and it was determined that Laurie Lee, 32, of Danbury, had concealed $33.81 worth of merchandise and exited the store without paying.
Lee was issued a misdemeanor summons on the charge of sixth-degree larceny and released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on April 12.
Thursday, March 31
Jennifer Lucas, 24, of Trumbull, was pulled over for using a hand-held cell phone while driving on Federal Road at 6:25 p.m. While conducting the traffic stop, the officer noted an odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed several articles of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle along with marijuana contained in a Ziploc bag.
Lucas was arrested and charged with illegal possession of marijuana, illegal possession of drug paraphernalia and use of a hand-held cellular telephone. She was released on $500 bond pending a court date on April 12 in Danbury Superior Court.
Wednesday, March 29
Alexander Hussey, 53, of Brookfield, was observed traveling south on Candlewood Lake Road in a red Ford Ranger while passing a standing school bus with flashing red lights on the left at a very slow rate.
Upon stopping Hussey, the officer was advised that his license was suspended as of March 3, 2011. Hussey was arrested and charged with passing a standing school bus and operation of a motor vehicle while license is under suspension. He was released on $2,500 bond pending arraignment on April 12 in Danbury Superior Court.
