Marc Bessette, 19, of Danbury, was seen traveling southbound on the Route 7 off-ramp at 8:27 p.m. The traffic on Federal Road had a green light and the right of way. An officer traveling southbound on Federal Road had to quickly apply his brakes to prevent colliding into Bessette as he drove through the light.
A traffic stop was initiated and subsequent to performing standardized field sobriety testing, Bessette was placed under arrest and charged with failure to obey a control signal and operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He was released on $1,000 bond with a court date scheduled for March 22 in Danbury Superior Court.
