Police Blotter: Shoplifting Grift; Speeding DUI

Saturday, March 3
At 2:44 p.m., an officer was dispatched to for a shoplifting complaint. After speaking with Kohl’s prevention loss, it was determined that Donald Belliveau, 27, of Main Street, Brewster, NY, had entered Kohl’s with an old receipt, selected items from the store that were on the receipt and then attempted to return those items for store credit.
Belliveau was arrested by Brookfield police, charged with larceny in the sixth degree and released on $500 with an order to appear in Danbury Superior Court on March 13.

Wednesday, February 29
Brookfield police arrested Curtis Ryan Morea, 26, of Maloney Lane, New Milford, after conducting a motor vehicle stop around 1:04 a.m.

According to police, Morea was traveling northbound on Federal Road when he passed a Brookfield police officer traveling 64 mph in a 45 mph zone. After stopping Morea, police determined that he was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and speeding.
Morea was released on $500 bond with a court date scheduled for March 13 in Danbury Superior Court.
