Police Blotter: Shoplifting; Violation of Protective Order

The following arrest information was supplied by the Brookfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, September 20

After receiving a call at approximately 2 p.m. about a suspicious person in the area of Homestead Lane, it was discovered that Nicholas Mazur, 18, of Nicoles Court, Brookfield was violating a criminal protective order against a female living in a nearby unit. Mazur was placed under arrest and charged with criminal violation of a protective order, non-threatening/non-family. He was released on a $1,000 bond and given a court date of September 21.

Sandra Jhannet Villa, 24, of White Street, Danbury entered department store in Brookfield and selected several items. She took those items into the dressing room, but when she exited the dressing room, she did so without the items. None of the items were left in the dressing room. Villa then exited the store without paying and was stopped outside by loss prevention. She was found in possession of $198 of merchandise in her purse. 

Brookfield Police were called to the scene at 2 p.m. and Villa was arrested and charged with larceny in the sixth degree: shoplifting. She was released on $250 bond and given a court date of October 7.

At 3 p.m., police were called because of a complaint of a domestic disturbance. Following an investigation, they arrested John McGuinness, Sr., 50, of Beverly Drive, Brookfield and charged him with disorderly conduct. He was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on September 26.
