Police Blotter: Suspensions and Shoplifting

Albert Bertelsen, 39, of New Fairfield, was pulled over at 9:24 p.m. for traveling above the posted speed limit of 35 mph on Candlewood Lake Road. Upon being stopped, a license check showed Bertelsen's license to be suspended. He was arrested and charged with traveling unreasonably fast and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Thursday, July 8

Christopher and Lisa Brown, both of Brookfield, were arrested at their home on Obtuse Rocks Road at 4:19 p.m. after an alleged domestic dispute occurred at their house. Both were charged with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct and were released on written promises to appear in Danbury Superior Court on July 9.

Friday, July 9

After a short foot pursuit, Ricky Nation, 42, of Danbury, was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from Kohl's department store on Federal Road at 11:26 a.m. Nation is charged with larceny in the sixth degree, with a court date set for July 23.
