Police Blotter: Teens on School Roof; NY Man Arrested for DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Brookfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, July 2

Brookfield police officers responded to (CES) around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call regarding several youths on the roof of the school. Upon arrival, officers found three 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old and took them into custody.

The juveniles, whose names are not being released, were transported to the where they were issued a Juvenile Summons and charged with loitering on or about school grounds.

They were released into their parents’ custody with written promises to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court on July 11.

James Schneider, 39, of Riverdale Drive, Wingdale, NY, was pulled over at 1:06 a.m. after an officer observed him driving at a high rate of speed and swerving into the opposing lane on Federal Road, near the intersection of Route 25.

A traffic stop was conducted and, after an investigation, the officer determined that Schneider was driving under the influence. He was arrested and charged with DUI, operating without a license, traveling unreasonably fast and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Schneider was released on $500 bond with a court date set for July 14 in Danbury Superior Court.
