Police Blotter: Two DUIs and New Britain Woman Arrested for 2009 Stolen Check

Sunday, February 20
Around 4:32 p.m., police received several 9-1-1 calls from concerned motorists regarding a vehicle “all over the roadway” on Route 7 northbound in the area of exit 12. Callers observed the vehicle exit the highway, at which point officers located the vehicle.
With the assistance of a Spanish-speaking officer from Danbury, the accused, Manuel Oswaldo Lituma, 37, of Brookfield, was administered and failed standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Lituma was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane of a multi-lane highway, operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and operating with a suspended license. He was released after posting $500 bond with a court date set for March 4 in Danbury Superior Court.

New Britain Police located Monique Poulin, 19, of New Britain, at 3:33 p.m. and arrested her on an outstanding warrant out of Brookfield stemming from a stolen check incident that occurred on November 10, 2009.
Poulin was charged with forgery in the second degree and larceny in the fifth. She was released on $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on March 4.
Saturday, February 19
At 3:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to a complaint of an intoxicated driver last seen westbound on Station Road. Officers located the vehicle on Gereg Glen and asked the driver, Alexander Hussey, 53, of New Milford, to turn off his vehicle so they could speak with him. Hussey refused to turn off his vehicle and left the scene toward Candlewood Lake Road.
Officers caught up with Hussey on Candlewood Lake Road just over the New Milford town line. He was taken into custody and charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and disobeying the signal of an officer in the first degree. He was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on March 4.
