Nadim Taveira, 20, of Brookfield, was stopped for his driver-side brake light not working and was asked to submit to a field sobriety test. Taveira failed these tests and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and was charged with operation of a motor vehicle by a minor having elevated blood alcohol level. Taveira was released on $500 bond with a court date set for June 14 in Danbury Superior Court.
