Police ID Man Drowned in Candlewood Lake in Brookfield
CT DEEP authorities have identified the boater whose body was pulled from Candlewood Lake last week.
BROOKFIELD, CT — State environmental officials have released the name of the man whose body was pulled from Candlewood Lake last week.
Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection authorities have identified Larry Kwokpo Chan, 24, of Bristol as the boater. DEEP is investigating Chan's death as an accidental drowning, according to officials.
Investigators discovered Chan's body on Thursday, after searching for more than two weeks.

The Brookfield Police Department responded to the area near Candlewood Inn and Brookfield Bay around 7:30 p.m. on May 29, following a report of a boater who had jumped in the water and had not resurfaced.
The official inquiry is still open as of Tuesday, pending a final report from the Chief Medical Examiner's Office.
