Updated: Police Identify Crash Victim, Investigate Possible Cause

68-year-old Brookfield man fatally wounded in single-car accident Tuesday night.

Brookfield police identified the man killed in Tuesday night’s single-car accident as 68-year-old Naldo Rosiello of Brookfield.

According to police, around 9:09 p.m. they responded to the intersection of Whisconier Road and Winding Road, where the 1998 Toyota 4Runner driven by Rosiello was found off the eastern side of the roadway, impacted by a tree.

Rosiello was rushed to Danbury Hospital, however he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

As of Wednesday morning, it does not appear that any other vehicles were involved in the incident and no other injured parties are being reported.

Photos taken after the accident show little damage to the vehicle and police are "looking at the possibility that an underlying medical problem was involved," Maj. Jay Purcell said Wednesday. Police are also performing a complete inspection of the 4Runner to rule out any mechanical issues.

Whisconier Road was closed until 11:45 p.m. Tuesday while the Accident Investigation Unit reconstructed the incident.
