Police Searching For Swimmer Missing On Candlewood Lake In Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is continuing its search of Candlewood Lake, following the report of a swimmer who went missing there Friday.

The 20-year-old man vanished near Chicken Rock in the evening hours, according to a report on WTNH.

Joining the DEEP Environmental Conservation Police in the search are firefighters from Brookfield, Danbury, Sherman, New Milford, and Newtown, as well as dive teams from the Danbury, Brookfield, and State Police.

Candlewood Lake has been the site of several searches for missing boaters or swimmers in just the past few months. Most recently, DEEP teams recovered the body of a Bristol boater from the lake following a lengthy search.
