Potential Fatal Accident on Whisconier Tuesday Night

A serious car accident around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night in Brookfield led to the driver, the sole occupant, being transported to Danbury Hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to early, unconfirmed reports, the accident was ultimately fatal.

Brookfield police Maj. Jay Purcell said the vehicle struck a tree near the intersection of Route 25 and Winding Road, between and , causing no other injury or damage other than to the vehicle and its driver.

Police are withholding the name of the victim until the family is notified.

According to Purcell, the Accident Investigation Unit was on scene Tuesday night and more information will be available Wednesday morning.

Whisconier Road was closed Tuesday night between the intersection with Silvermine Road and Long Meadow Hill Road until around 11:50 p.m.
