Ready for Your Closeup? Brookfield Celebrates #CityHallSelfie Day
Brookfield is asking residents to take a picture of themselves in front of a local government building, for a chance at prizes.

BROOKFIELD, CT — You will be forgiven if you forgot that Thursday Aug. 15 is City Hall Selfie Day, but the town wants to remind you.
The promotion #CityHallSelfie day was created by the organization Engaging Local Government (ELG) with the intention of showcasing pride in local government institutions.
The town is asking residents to take a picture of themselves in front of a local government building — they're not married to City Hall, the public library or a fire house will do just as nicely — and post the photo on social media with the hashtag #CityHallSelfie. Upside for the resident is the chance to win awards from ELG for excelling in such categories as "Best Dressed," "Most People," "Funniest" or even "Best Hat."
