Yesterday, Sunday October 6, St Joseph Church had the Annual Blessing of the Animals in remembrance of St Francis of Assisi who was known to have had a very special love and respect for nature and animals. We began with a reading of the poem Rainbow Bridge to comfort those who have lost a pet over the years. After that, a prayer for the special friends was said for their intentions and in thanksgiving for the special place they hold in our lives. It was a very special day indeed as God participated directly in the blessing with His gentle rain!
