State Police: Four Fatal Accidents Over Holiday Weekend
State Police stepped up enforcement against DUI, seatbelt use and speeding.

The state police reported four fatal accidents over the Memorial Day weekend, as well as a total of 70 arrests for driving under the influence and 978 for driving without a seatbelt. More than 2,000 speeding tickets were handed out.
According to Lt. Paul Vance, Connecticut State Police spokesman, "The Memorial Day weekend enforcement operation utilized additional troopers who manned sobriety checkpoints, targeted DWI and aggressive driving and patrol across the State of Connecticut."
"Motorists are reminded as summer continues, if they see a suspected drunk driver, call 9-1-1 as this is a true emergency. Help the State Police keep the highways and roadways of Connecticut safe," Vance concluded in his statewide release.
