There's a Firefighter Knocking at Your Door...
Brookfield's emergency responders will come knocking June 26-27 for their annual Fund Drive
First responders from the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and Candlewood Company will be going door-to-door Sunday, June 26 and Monday, June 27, in their annual fund drive.
Members will be going from house to house in full dress uniform collecting donations to support the fire companies and the held at the Pocono station.
According to Brookfield Company Secretary Sara Ellis, all of the firefighters’ gear, apparatus and trucks are purchased with funds raised through these donation drives.

The Brookfield Company is currently preparing to purchase two new trucks — a pumper and a tanker — to replace three older units, at an approximate cost of $750,000. The three units being replaces are 25, 30 and 33-plus years old, according to Ellis.
“We have always depended on the generosity of the town residents to support our organization and thank them for their continued support,” she said.

The companies were originally planning to hold the fund drive on June 12-13, however crews were occupied cleaning up from the .
