Brookfield firefighters are going to be working the grill, the bar and waiting tables at 189 Sports Cafe Thursday night and will be donating their tips to the American Cancer Society.
This will be the third year of Tip-a-Firefighter at 189 Sports Cafe, according to organizer and Candlewood Company Assistant Chief Jason Broad.
"It's a fun time, good camaraderie," he said. "We're not only responding to emergencies but also out there raising money to help fight cancer."
Broad said they were able to raise over $1,400 last year and the six firefighters working this year hope to raise even more.
Firefighters will be cooking and serving from 5 p.m. on for this annual event, with 100 percent of their tips going to cancer research through this year's Relay For Life.
