As mid-term exams draw near, the Writing Center has continued to be a center of creativity and growth. A "forest" of young maple trees has added some new texture to our surroundings; we look forward to the Spring semester. Parents who read this hopefully know by now and will encourage their children to visit our peer tutors, who are skilled in working with classmates.
One visit to our Writing Center almost guarantees that a written work will thrive. With continued side-by-side help, a student may learn how to improve paragraphs and essays, how to develop thesis statements, learn to identify and provide supporting evidence for an essay. The student writer "drives" the session according to his/her need and no two sessions are exactly alike. The Writing Center is staffed each block of the day and is a welcoming, comfortable place. We hope your student will meet with one of our forty, hard-working tutors soon!
