Trial Date Set in Brookfield Pension Suit

The town claims it over-paid pension benefits to its retired controller by $110,000.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Jury selection has been scheduled for next month in the case between the town and the retired controller who sued Brookfield over his pension payments. Ray Bolek had sued Brookfield after the town claimed it had been overpaying his pension and had him pay back $110,000. The town also reduced his pension benefit from $3,180 a month to $2,650 a month afterward.

Bolek sued Brookfield in 2016, claiming the town breached his benefits agreement. The trial will start May 29 in Litchfield Court.
